The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a full-size pickup truck with some of the best power in its class. Most trims come standard with a four-cylinder Turbomax engine that delivers 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. To access even more power, a 5.3L EcoTech3 V8 engine, standard on the LTZ and High Country and optional on most other trims, improves performance to 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. A 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine, optional starting on the RST trim, boasts 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Finally, a 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine, optional starting on the Custom Trail Boss and standard on the ZR2 trim, produces a hardy 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

The Silverado 1500 features standard all-wheel drive and an electronically controlled eight-speed automatic transmission with grade braking and tow/haul mode, but a 10-speed transmission is available starting on the Custom Trail Boss and standard starting on the LTZ. The ZR2 trim is geared toward off-road experiences with a high-performance lifted suspension, full-locking differentials, and Multimatic DSSV dampers.

The standard TurboMax engine can haul approximately 9,500 pounds of equipment, but with the 3.0L diesel engine equipped, the maximum towing capacity increases to 13,300 pounds.
